To, The Principal Secretaries / Secretaries (Education) / Nodal Department of all the States / UTs for National Programme of Mid Day Meal in Schools Subject: Revision of cooking cost @ 10.99% w.e.f. 01.04.2020 during 2020-21 under National Programme of Mid Day Meal in Schools (NP-MDMS) -regarding. Sir / Madam, I am directed to say that it has been decided with the approval of the competent authority to increase the cooking cost by 10.99% over and above the existing cooking cost under National Programme of Mid Day Meal in schools w.e.f. 1st April, 2020 for the year 2020-21. The cooking cost will be shared between the Centre and States in the ratio of 60:40 for non-North Eastern Region (NER) States & UTs with legislature (except J & K), 100% for UTs without legislature and 90:10 for NER States, UT with legislature viz. Jammu & Kashmir and 2 Himalayan States viz. Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
